What we collect, how we use it, and what you control.

Saunjdya (सौंजड़्या) is a matrimonial platform. By its nature, it involves personal information — and we believe that information should be handled carefully, used only for the service, and shared only in the ways described here. This policy is written in plain language so an ordinary user can understand it.

Information We Collect

Information you (or your agent, with your consent) provide:

• Name, mobile number and, where provided, email address
• Date of birth and gender
• Location and residence information (current state/district, family home, native district)
• Matrimonial preferences (such as community preferences)
• Profile information: education, career, income band, family details, marital status, height and similar details
• Photographs uploaded for your profile (up to three)
• ID verification record: only the ID type and its last 4 digits — the full ID number is not stored on Saunjdya
• Login and account information (your User ID; passwords are stored only in hashed form, never as readable text)
• Payment and transaction-related information: the transaction reference and payment status for your ₹1,499 registration fee
• Information you provide when contacting support by email (such as your name, contact details and the content of your enquiry)

Technical information collected automatically when you use the website:

• Device and browser information
• IP address and similar technical logs
• Activity on the platform, such as last-active time (shown to other members as "Active now / Active 2h ago"), requests sent and received, and chat messages with your matches

How We Use Information

• Creating and managing your profile and account
• Providing matrimonial services — showing your profile to compatible members and showing you suitable profiles
• Account authentication and OTP verification of mobile numbers
• Processing the registration payment and maintaining payment records
• Responding to support and contact-form enquiries
• Preventing fraud, misuse and unauthorised activity (for example, login attempt limits)
• Maintaining the security and improving the functionality of the website
• Communicating important service-related information, such as your login credentials by SMS at registration

Profile Visibility — who sees what

A matrimonial profile exists to be discovered, so parts of it are visible to other authorised users. This is how visibility works on Saunjdya:

• Before a mutual match: other members whose preferences are compatible with yours (community, opposite gender, compatible marital status) can see your profile details — but not your name, photographs or mobile number. You appear as a User ID.
• After both of you accept a request: your name, photographs and mobile number are revealed to that matched member, and chat opens between you.
• Agents and administrators can see profile information as needed to register, verify, correct and support profiles.
• Profiles are not public: they are not visible to visitors without an account and are not indexed by search engines.

Because profile visibility is essential to the service, we cannot describe profile information as completely private — but we can, and do, keep your identity sealed until the interest is mutual.

Photographs

Profile photographs follow the same rule: hidden from other members until a mutual match, then visible to the matched member. Please upload only photographs you are comfortable sharing in a matrimonial context, and avoid uploading anything inappropriate, unlawful or highly sensitive. Photographs that violate our Terms & Conditions may be removed.

Payment Information

Saunjdya does not collect or store your card numbers, UPI PINs, or bank credentials. Payments are processed through authorised third-party payment service providers (currently PayU), and your payment details are handled on the provider's own secure pages according to their policies. Saunjdya stores only the payment reference, amount and status needed to confirm your registration.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Saunjdya uses essential cookies only: one that keeps you logged in during your session, and one that protects forms against misuse (security token). We do not use advertising cookies. If you block cookies, login will not work.

Third-Party Services

Saunjdya relies on a small number of third-party service providers to run the platform:

• Payment gateway services, for processing the registration fee
• SMS/OTP delivery services, for verifying mobile numbers and sending service messages
• Hosting and infrastructure providers, on whose servers the website runs

These providers receive only the information needed to perform their function (for example, the SMS provider receives the mobile number an OTP must be sent to).

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information — HTTPS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, storage of only the last 4 digits of ID numbers, access limited by role, login-attempt limits and security tokens on forms. At the same time, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We ask members to protect their side too: never share your password or OTP with anyone.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal and compliance requirements, resolve disputes and maintain business records. Profile registration is valid for one year; profiles that are not renewed after expiry may be deactivated and removed in line with our Terms & Conditions. Payment records may be kept longer where required for accounting and legal purposes.

Your Rights and Choices

• Correction: ask your agent to correct inaccurate profile information — verified details are corrected through the agent so they stay trustworthy.
• Deletion: use Delete my data in your account Settings to permanently remove your profile, photographs, requests and messages, or write to us to request deletion.
• Deactivation: pause all profile visibility any time from Settings.
• Blocking: block any match to disappear from each other entirely.
• Questions and withdrawal of permissions: you may ask us what information we hold about you, and withdraw permissions where technically possible, by writing to the email below.

What we never do

• We never sell member data.
• We never show your profile outside the platform or to search engines.
• We never store readable passwords or full ID numbers.

Children's Privacy

Saunjdya is intended only for adults of legal marriageable age who are seeking a matrimonial relationship. The platform is not intended for children or minors, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the platform after an update means the updated policy applies.
